Cass County Health Department offers childhood immunizations for uninsured and underinsured, adult TB skin testing, pregnancy testing for Medicaid applicants, Missouri birth and death certificates, Women, Infants and Children services(WIC), restaurant inspections, food handler classes, communicable disease reporting and preparedness planning.

Communicable Diseases
The Communicable Disease and Epidemiology staff is responsible for:
- Tracking disease trends in the community
- Receiving and investigating reported cases and outbreaks of communicable diseases in our county as reported from health care providers
- Influenza prevention clinics
- Providing communicable disease and immunization education to child care facilities, schools and parents
- Comparing and interpreting data in order to detect possible changes in the health status of the population
- Using leading edge disease surveillance systems to detect changes in trends or distribution of diseases in order to effectively investigate, prevent, and control diseases in the community.
- Maintaining partnerships with the healthcare community
- Assuring that effective control measures and treatment are taken, especially in the event of a widespread outbreak.

If you would like a Cass County Communicable Disease Reporter Manual, please contact the Communicable Disease Surveillance staff at 816-380-8440. This manual provides all the instructions and necessary forms for disease reporting.
We work to maintain partnerships with area physicians, hospitals, laboratories, schools and other health care providers to assist them in providing the most up-to-date information about communicable diseases.
Our Nursing Department also provides services for those who are suspected of or diagnosed Tuberculosis infection or disease. Please contact the Nursing Department at 816-380-8431 to schedule an appointment.

Surveillance
The Cass County Health Department has recruited sites around the county to act as surveillance sites. These sites provide weekly information regarding illnesses they have observed in their facility.
