Childhood immunizations:
CCHD carries all recommended childhood vaccines
All immunization visits are scheduled by appointment only – call 816-380-8431
Please bring the vaccination record or letter from the school indicating shots required
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
Who can get vaccinated?
Families with private medical insurance that covers the cost of vaccines are encouraged to obtain the needed vaccines from their medical provider.
Those with private medical insurance that does not cover the cost of vaccines or whose medical provider does not offer vaccinations, will be charged a fee of $5.00 for each child receiving immunizations through the CCHD. Payment must be in the form of cash or check made out to “CCHD”.
Children who are uninsured or are covered by Mo HealthNet (formerly MC+) will not be charged a fee for vaccinations received through the CCHD.

MMR:

Post exposure prophylaxis - $15.00
The Cass County Health Department no longer carries Hepatitis A or
B vaccines for adults.

Pregnancy Testing
By appointment only – call 816-380-8431
Provides “proof of pregnancy” signed by a nurse required for
Medicaid application
Consider taking a home pregnancy test first or waiting until 2
missed periods before scheduling appointment to be sure test will be positive
Cost - $10.00 cash or check made out to “CCHD” Medicaid billed when
possible
TEMP Card: “Temporary Medicaid during Pregnancy Program” – provides
early access to prenatal care while awaiting formal determination of Medicaid
eligibility

Tuberculosis (TB)
Skin Testing
TB is a communicable disease caused by a bacteria that is spread
from person to person by respiratory droplets, e.g. through coughing. TB
normally affects the lungs but can affect other areas of the body as well.
TB tests are scheduled by appointment – call 816-380-8431
The test is administered and then read (checked) 48-72 hours later
Tests are not done on Thursdays, Mantoux method used – tuberculin
injected under the skin
Cost: $15.00 cash or check made out to “CCHD”TB testing of those
exposed to an active disease case are tested free of charge
